2019 Winter Competition Style BaozhongFloating Leaves Tea
Baozhong is a brightly fragrant, open leaf oolong tea. The leaves are long, spindly and deep forest green. Although it is fragrant and green like high mountain oolong, Baozhong is more direct and straightforward. It's a very refreshing oolong.
We call this one Competition Style because it is made to win tea competitions. It is light bodied and floral with a jade colored broth.
Our longtime friend Farmer Chen grows this tea at his tea farm in Pinglin, in the Wenshan District of Taiwan. He does all the processing in house, start to finish. We love his personality and how it reflects in his easygoing tea!
Wet leaves have a big, bold floral fragrance. Broth is light bodied and well balanced with both a grassy sweetness and just a touch of mineral note. It is also buttery. Aftertaste is delicate and refreshing. This tea is bright with an upfront floral character and balanced body.
