2018 Winter Da Yu Ling High MountainFloating Leaves Tea
Da Yu Ling is the highest tea growing peak in Taiwan, this particular tea garden is about 2500 meters high. The Taiwanese government has been slowly closing down the tea gardens on Da Yu Ling to help with the ecology of the area, but that means there are less farmers producing tea up there.
The Da Yu Ling farmer we work with has produced an extremely well balanced tea this season. Really fruity and sweet, beautiful long aftertaste and oily texture. This is a big, complex high mountain oolong with a lot of longevity for brewing. Citrus notes up top with delicate brothy body give this tea a very round, resonant feeling. It can take long brews with very hot water, and the flavor just becomes deeper.
