2019 Spring Lishan High Mountain
$16.00

Story

Lishan, which translates to 'Pear Mountain' is one of Taiwan's most famous tea mountains. The misty peaks of this very high alpine region accent Taroko Gorge National Park on the East Coast of Taiwan. This tea garden is located about 1800 meters high on the mountain.

This is the only high mountain oolong from this season that arrived too late to make it into the blind tasting event from early June. The Lishan that we initially tasted, we were not very impressed with. But they wouldn't give up, and sent us this sample a week or two later. It made the cut, and we have Lishan this season after all!

Description

Dry leaves have buttery and hay notes. Butter note comes out a lot more in the wet leaves, and a fruity/juicy scent shows up.

The broth is juicy and creamy, with young fruit notes playing the defining role in the bouquet. The initial hit quickly transforms into a long lasting sweetness and a solid, tapering salivation.
