Dark Roast Tie Guan Yin
$9.00

Story

Tie Guan Yin is a slow growing cultivar. The plants look scraggly, but they produce one of the most 'tea' teas of any oolong. It's hard to find the most traditional style of Tie Guan Yin, but this heavy roasted version packs a bold flavor and roasty punch.

Description

Dry leaves are black, and the broth brews up dark amber. This is a big, in-your-face tea. It is boldly roasted, with notes of soy sauce, coffee and dry fruit. Lots of flavor, with an unexpected sweetness that rounds the tea out.

It's not a dainty tea; it's a solid tea with a big presence. We like it because it can be so punchy and brash, but still strike a really balanced presentation. Like a heavy metal drummer who knows his scales.
