XJY Lishan High Mountain Oolong 2024 Winter

Regular price $54.00

Size

A big, dense, buttery tea with plenty of top end sparkle from super high elevation Xin Jia Yang region of Lishan. Frequently sold as Da Yu Ling because the more famous region is quite close, and has a similar profile.

Broth is oily jade-gold with buttery richness immediately apparent. Mouthfeel is smooth and superbly buttery with an nice mouthwatering effect from the grapefruit-pith-like tannin. Fragrance is top notch with lots of top end sparkle, dense and complex with notes of flowers, pomelo and pine above the sweeter condensed milk base. Very full of information but manages it with finesse and clarity.

Aftertaste lingers as complex aromatic evaporation in the mouth and throat for a long time. Salivation also endures especially long. My favorite part is in the throat, where the tea seems to stream down like oily aromatic citrus-pine resin.

It is dazzling. A real supermodel tea: Hot, and proud of it.
