2020 Spring Alishan High MountainFloating Leaves Tea
New (to us) as of 9/15
Alishan was the first high mountain region in Taiwan to begin growing tea on a large scale. We like to find Alishan oolongs with lots of beautiful floral notes. The tea garden that we work with is located about 1200 meters high in Zhangshu Hu.
Our anniversary sale in August went much bigger than expected, and our original batch of Alishan ran out three months before the Winter harvest is expected to come in! We were lucky enough to get a hold of this wonderfully sweet and fragrant Alishan through the generosity of a tea friend in Taipei.
The aroma of the wet leaves is twinklingly bright with notes of flowers and citrus. The broth is fragrant, sweet and well balanced.
There is a buttery texture to the broth, and a sweetness that reminds us of milk candy. Aftertaste is long lasting, leaving a floral character behind in the mouth after swallowing.
This is a delightfully floral Alishan with well balanced broth!
