2011 Huang PianFloating Leaves Tea
Over the course of a few seasons, our friends in Yunnan collected Huang Pian (mature leaves) from old tea trees to produce a very affordable old tree tea brick. We prefer to drink old tree material, so this was a great find. The leaves are not beautiful, but the tea is remarkable for the value. It is fermented very cleanly, and has a sweet date character classic to shou (cooked) puer.
The broth is rich and smooth, with chocolate and dried fruit notes. It is a very clean and very grounding tea.
