Oriental BeautyFloating Leaves Tea
Oriental Beauty is an intentionally bug bitten, open leaf oolong created in Taiwan. It is bitten by a small green leaf-hopper, and the bite-wound causes a sweetness in the leaf. Then the young leaves are plucked by hand and oxidized rather heavily to coax out the natural sweetness in the tea. The characteristic of this tea is it's strong honey aroma and sweet taste.
This batch is actually from 2018 harvest, and letting it age for that year has brought out a depth and richness to the flavor of this tea. It's also made from smaller leaves and has a much higher buds content than our usual line-up of Oriental Beauty. It's a beautiful tea just to look at, and you can use less tea by weight to brew the same strength pot of tea.
Honey notes are rich and thick, and there's a sweet spiciness to the scent of the leaves. The broth is sweet and full of honey/fruity notes. The body is more full when compared to the last batch. Seriously SO MUCH HONEY feeling in this tea.
