New Sizing Update
Starting in May we will begin implementing some sizing changes. It's something we think makes more sense and will be better for customers. Nothing too crazy, we just want you to be aware we are not raising prices, just changing the sizes available.
There will be two big changes (1) We are changing our smallest size from 30g to 25g. The price per gram will not change almost at all (except for minimal rounding to keep figures easy to work with).
(2) We are getting rid of the 60g size in favor of 75g. The price per gram will actually go down. It is not as cheap per gram as 150g, but better than the 30g size. The main reason we’re changing to 75g is because it fits into the 150g size. So if you buy 150 grams of tea you will receive it in two 75g bags.
We will begin implementing these sizing changes early May 2025, slowly rolling them in starting with Spring tea. In other words they will not take effect all at once.
For a long time we have been considering and reconsidering our sizing decisions of almost a decade ago. Now that Sunny is pre-packing most of our teas in Taiwan, it is better for us if the sizes fit into each other. That way if we run out of one size we can always give you a combination of smaller bags. But as it stands we often have to cut open bags, which is wasteful. Also, 60 grams was never much of a deal compared to 30g. Now the price per gram will be a full 10% off when you jump from 25g to 75g. Jumping to 150g (which hasn’t changed in price) net you a total of 28% off!
Another reason: we are answering the request of many customers. We know people like smaller sizes to try something new for the first time (hence 25g). But also some folks drink tea more slowly, so they are afraid a 150g bag will go stale before they finish it. Now we will start sending 150g amounts of tea as 2x 75g bags. We hope this will help keep tea fresh in your home. However we have always, and still do, encourage our customers to experience our tea in larger sizes rather than as samples. We find it's necessary to take your time to slowly familiarize yourself to the teas we work with. It is only once you calibrate your internal senses to feel the clarity of our teas, that we feel the open, airy beauty of them can be appreciated.
You probably know that we have long given small (8-12 gram) samples with our orders. We are now going to start giving out full 25g samples instead. But we will set the threshold higher, so that only once your order value gets to $80 will you receive a 25g sample. We think this will help preserve tea freshness.
As long as we are changing things around, we are going to rip another bandaid off: the free shipping threshold. The cost of shipping has nearly doubled since we started with the $80 threshold and it’s just time to raise it. The new threshold will be $100 for free shipping.

Noah is currently in Taiwan sourcing Spring tea! You can expect the first high mountain oolongs (lower elevation teas from Alishan and Shan Lin Xi) to arrive on our shelves in the next couple weeks. The weather has been very nice for tea production this season, and we're very excited to share.
With Love,
Shiuwen, Noah, and Sunny
