Loyalty Program
We are introducing a loyalty program where you can collect points when you buy tea. These points can be redeemed for discount codes which you can use on future orders. This will take the place of free samples that we used to choose.
Why are we doing this?
For years we have chosen a free sample for you when your order value is over a certain amount. Because the company is just our family and Sunny, and we are growing (hooray!) we are not able to keep choosing samples with the care that you deserve. So we decided to start a loyalty program in the hopes that you can earn points and choose your own free sample. Or if you don't want a sample (you like what you like) then you can get a discount on your regular orders and you won't pile up a bunch of samples you don't want that we chose for you.
What do you need to do?
It's pretty straightforward, ecommerce technology is good these days. The only thing you have to do is make sure you have an account for our store. If you don't have one yet (you checked out as a guest) create one. The app uses your account to accumulate points which you can then redeem in increments of 100 points for discount codes. You can always check your balance (when you're signed in) on the widget -- the little green popup that's on the lower righthand side of every page of our site now.
$1 spent = 5 points, and 100 points will get you $1 of free tea.
Say you collect 1000 points after spending $200 over the course of four orders. When you are ready to redeem those, you can click the button on the widget under "Ways to Redeem" for a $10 discount code. Then just use the discount on your order. The annoying thing is the app won't let you use two discounts on one order, so make sure you save up until you're ready to use it BEFORE clicking redeem. It's not perfect.
Our Goals
We have always enjoyed giving a little gift to thank you for placing an order. This is the best way we can think of to continue this practice in the new era of Floating Leaves. What we don't want is to gamify the buying experience on our site. That's absolutely not the point. These ecommerce apps can be mischievous, so if we don't catch everything we're sorry. We hope you don't feel any pressure, we just want to give you some extras to thank you for your loyalty. If you notice something that feels fishy please feel free to reach out to us about it.
