Shan Lin Xi High Mountain 2024 Winter
Dry leaves in hot gaiwan reveal buttery baked goods aroma. Brewed, broth is a bright yellow with bright lemony citrus, evergreen and fresh mineral tones. Full bodied and agile tea with excellent structure. It has a zing to it, while overall remaining grounded and round.
Second infusion reveals notes of freshly baked buttery pastry in the broth. Evaporating off the scenting cup, dainty flowers start to poke through. Broth is rich and buttery, spreading across the tongue with a chalky mineral texture that 'gives you something to chew on'. Strong and quick salivation leaves you with a clean finish, and citrus-pine oil aroma lingers long in the mouth and sinuses, slowing evolving into hints of flowers.
Excellent, structured high mountain oolong with the classic Shan Lin Xi mineral mouthfeel and piney aroma. It has a power to it that we adore.
