This tea has been my addiction for the last two or three months. If I sit down to the tea table and am not already sure what I want to brew, I always reach for this one. Broth has excellent movement, both in the mouth and into the body. Aroma is clear and potent. Qi is very soothing.

This is a relatively heavily oxidized tea for Dan Cong, broth is deep amber-orange. It's fruity, but not that super showy peach ring candy aroma that you'll sometimes find in Dan Cong. In this one the fruit tone doesn't soar above the broth, but rather is grounded in the earthier tones in the mid and low end of this tea. Some woodiness in there too. Bitterness is prominent.

The farmer that makes this tea doesn't do the most sophisticated, refined processing that I've ever had so flavor notes are not especially well defined. But he takes immaculate care of his plants. They are happy plants. And therefore, they are generous with the 'gift' that they give, that special thing that only really good tea can do.

Anyway, all that's to say I like the tea a lot. It's not cheap, but gives a lot of infusions and does some very special things. I would not recommend it for beginners as those things can be hard to appreciate at first, and the flavor notes are not especially complex. But if you approach it with patience and humility, it is a generous teacher. It fills us with happiness that we are now going to share it with you!
